Population measured
All US housekeeping households of 1 or more persons — one spring week, April-June 1955; percentages based on the survey's weighted household distribution (its Table 1, weighted to include one-quarter farm). 'Food used' is the survey's economic sense: eaten, discarded, or fed to pets, from all sources including home-produced
The survey's national report, 202 pp. Household-use percentages for fresh vegetables are Table 14 (FRESH VEGETABLES), United States / All urbanizations section, printed p. 111 of the archive scan (PDF page 115): the dark-green-and-deep-yellow group total, its dark-green-leafy total, spinach, other leafy, broccoli, carrots and green peppers columns (2)-(8), each in all-sources and purchased-only variants, over 'percentage of households using' rows. The same table repeats per urbanization section (nonfarm, urban, rural nonfarm, rural farm) with a DIFFERENT column plan per section — columns must not be mixed across sections. The scan is a negative microfilm whose text layer garbles some digits; every curated value was closed against the survey's own arithmetic instead (All-households row = Table-1-weighted mean of its 1-person and 2+-person rows) — see the verification log, 'Plan 027 WI-6 (1955 checkpoint)'.
1 records across 1 decades and countries. Documented gaps are included; a source cited for a gap does not establish a value.
0 of 1 records have a current source audit. A transcription check reads a declared numeric field from a pinned local source file; a calculation replay reads its operands and applies the declared method and rounding rule. A source audit does not independently validate the source or every claim in a record. The date is the last successful local audit; the build checks that its bindings still match.
